The Fundraising Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support the conference’s financial sustainability and growth. This role focuses on donor relations, sponsorship outreach, and budget coordination, working closely with the Events and Communications teams to align financial goals with programming and engagement initiatives.
The Programming & Proposals Coordinator will be responsible for shaping the content of the conference by developing engaging programs and ensuring that workshops, presentations, and activities are well-organized and impactful. This role combines program design, proposal management, and event coordination, working closely with other committee members to deliver a meaningful and seamless experience for participants and presenters.
The Events Management Coordinator will be responsible for managing all logistical and vendor-related aspects of the conference, ensuring a smooth and memorable experience for attendees. This role focuses on event operations, vendor coordination, and budget management, working closely with other organizers to plan and execute the conference’s key in-person components.
The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring our online presence is consistent, engaging, and aligned with the mission of the organizing committee. This role focuses on the operations of communications—keeping content updated, posted, and monitored—while working in close partnership with the Communications Organizer, whose primary responsibility is strategic planning and overall communications development.
BiHDC Organizer FAQs
What is the Organizing Committee?
The committee is a volunteer-led group that oversees planning, fundraising, programming, and communications for our annual BiH Diasporic Conference. Members help shape the vision and ensure meaningful impact for both our local and BiH communities.
Do I need previous experience in these areas?
Experience is helpful but not required. We welcome applicants who are eager to learn and bring enthusiasm, new perspectives, or transferable skills. Each new member will be paired with mentors and supported during onboarding.
What does onboarding involve?
Onboarding is intentional and gradual. New members will learn about the committee’s history, values, and processes. Each new member will be paired with an experienced member to mentor them and answer questions in an encouraging environment.
What is the time commitment?
On average, members should expect to dedicate 5–10 hours per month depending on role and event cycles. Workload may increase in the months leading up to the conference

Can I apply if I live outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina, United States, etc…?
Yes! While the committee is primarily located in the USA, we welcome members from all around the world. All meetings are virtual except for the days leading up to the conference.
How long is the commitment?
We ask all new members to commit to 2 years. This allows time for onboarding, meaningful contributions, and leadership development.
What does the application process look like?

Participate in a short virtual interview.
Selected members receive an invitation to join and begin the onboarding process.
